GATED COMMUNITY – umzäunte Gemeinschaft

Vague fears? We can tell you what to be afraid of !

GATED COMMUNITY/Umzäunte Gemeinschaft was founded in 2004 to respond to a call for contributions for billboards in the Berlin underground station Alexanderplatz titled “Cleanliness, Security, Service”.

We, Christine Kriegerowski and Christoph Tempel, camouflaged as GATED COMMUNITY/Umzäunte Gemeinschaft, a company selling fences against common fears and used the 32 four by two meter billboards as our catalogue.

Our advertising slogan is, that an unnamed fear is worst, so our service includes the naming of popular fears and then to find a product–the right fence–to ban it. This of course alludes to the fact that to solve a problem instead of being encouraged to look for an answer usually you are sold a product. This is the main secret of simple solutions. Which we offer.

In our catalogue you will find fences protecting against cars, strangers and wild pigs, intruders, terrorists and extraterrestrians, fare dodgers, handicapped and exhibitionists. It also excludes campaigners, reforms and hostile take-over as well as social hostility, glances and salesmen, even neighbours, gapers and pitbulls are being targeted as possible menace. Menace is one of our keywords, as well as envy, lookers-on, and yes, philisters. We also suggest to be ready to protect from computer viruses, employees, molestors, and mob, and let us not forget scroungers, pests, trespassers, poverty and trailers.

We have got the right fence against every menace!
Firewall or rustic fence–feel safe and protected with GATED COMMUNITY.
